Interview with Guba Otrovna |

Hello dear and lovely readers,

I decided to publish my fourth article within 24 hours, mostly because I dont have anything better to do with my time. xD

For this edition, I decided to sit down for an interview with a famous, highly intriguing, and simultaneously loved-and-hated figure in our community. She is none other than Guba Otrovna—our lovely, poisonous mushroom! xD
Since the interview is quite long and incredibly detailed, Ill cut the crap and dive straight into it. :P

Q: Could you please introduce yourself to our readers, as far as your privacy allows?

A: Hello from Poisonous Mushroom (that’s what my username means). This is my second interview here, but since it’s been a long time, here I am again—I’m a middle-aged woman who refuses to grow up and whose brain is stuck somewhere far back in time I love the sea, and luckily I live on the Black Sea coast, in Burgas, Bulgaria. I’m a naive dreamer, painfully honest, (almost) always smiling, and I love everything colorful.

My whole life, my work has been stressful and involved dealing with lots of people, which I really hate—so after a few years off, I’m now happily working as a “second mom,” or in other words, I’m the nanny to one wonderful little girl, which is exhausting but wonderful and fills me with good vibes!

And yes, I really do have blue hair. And yes, I really do have “a few” tattoos

Q: Who is Guba in eDominations? Please feel free to share anything you would like about your in-game character.

A: Guba actually started out as CEBAP... At the end of 2024, when the game was on autopilot—with no admin and very few active players—a friend asked me to step in and keep this account alive, as it had been abandoned by its owner, like so many others. I agreed, even though I was playing four other games at the same time. Shortly after that, the admin came back (I wonder if I was the first player to see and greet him...), the game came back to life, people started returning, it got interesting... and I decided to stay and play actively.

Starting from an account level of around 1,500 (I don’t remember exactly), over the course of a year and a half I invested a lot of time, enthusiasm (and real money, for my regret), and now I am what I am—a team player and a loyal soldier who follows orders and is always on the battlefield when needed, even at the cost of an empty inventory. A player who’s always ready to help anyone, whether “enemy” or not, new or veteran. Maybe that’s why I have so many friends here, which truly makes me happy...

My friends call me a woman with big balls, and maybe they’re right, because I’m not a farmer—I’m a warrior—and I’m proud of it

Q: You used to be the top journalist in the game for a very long time. What made you stop, and how did it feel to hold that medal on a daily basis?

A: It was never my intention to be a top journalist, especially since I’ve never written actual articles the way I have elsewhere. There were no benefits either, aside from the medal and a small perk for my country. I never spammed people with my “articles” nor did I ask my friends to do so (although I was directly involved in the “link-sharing war,” which led to the rule of one share every 12 hours).
I sometimes shared my favorite songs. But there was a period when there wasn’t an article to vote on for the daily missions in the morning, so I started sharing songs more and more often, until I was eventually doing it every day. I had a weekly theme that brought together different songs. I hoped to make someone smile, inspire others to share their favorite songs too, and turn it into a tradition... Unfortunately, that didn’t happen—no matter what I wrote, no matter what I posted, not even when I offered a prize of airplanes for a shared song... There were insults directed at me, baseless accusations… In the end, I got tired of all the apathy and hatred from some people, and I decided to save myself the hours spent selecting music and turning it into an article that I could publish every morning, even while I was at work. A few friends messaged me to ask why and said they miss it, but… what’s done is done.

Q: Your political journey has shifted over time. What led you to leave Bulgaria for North Macedonia, and what ultimately brought you to Albania?

A: Why did I leave Bulgaria? It’s a long and unpleasant story, but I don’t want to go into all the ugly details... Let’s just say: a clash between two political groups, two different circles of friends, and the fact that I chose the side of my close Friends from another game, revealed the dark side of other people whom I considered friends—people who hurled many ugly personal insults at my back without me ever having insulted a single one of them, and who continue to insult me in front of others. May they live long and healthy—the wheel keeps turning...

Almost all the players from the group that decided to leave Bulgaria went to China to farm quietly and peacefully. But… I’m not a farmer and never will be. I wanted to be in a country with battles—one I sympathize with. A Macedonian friend jokingly invited me there, and the joke became reality. The Mushroom became a Macedonian girl. They welcomed me very warmly, I made lots of friends, and had a wonderful time there filled with jokes, conversations, and mutual support.

At one point, a group of us more active players decided to move to Albania to help them win the season championship . We fought alongside them, took it very seriously, and we actually won! We formed a really good team together, and that’s why we’re still together, united, and winning!

Q: How do you personally define a true friend versus a so-called friend? How do you evaluate people, and how do you protect yourself from the hatred that sometimes surfaces in the community?

A: friend is someone you can talk to about anything without hesitation. Someone you can argue with, but who will listen to your arguments, regardless of whether they agree with them. And you remain friends even when you disagree, because you respect each other.

You’re there for each other through good or bad. You enjoy being together, and you can always count on each other. So-called “friends” only pretend to be friends as long as they can benefit from you; in reality, they’re hypocrites… and they’re only nice to you as long as they get something out of it. You don’t need enemies when you have “friends” like that.

And how do I deal with hatred? I’m a very emotional person, and often this really hurts me—even if they’re just words spoken by strangers online... Most of the time, it doesn’t show on the outside, even if I’m screaming with hurt inside, but I’m learning more and more to ignore it, knowing the truth about things

Q: How many languages do you know, and which ones can you speak fluently?

A: Unfortunately, there arent very many... My mother is Russian, so I speak a little Russian, in addition to my native Bulgarian. I studied German, but I really hated it back then and don’t remember almost anything about it. I can communicate more or less only in English, but since I never studied it formally, I’m not very good at it either. Long live translators!

Q: Could you share with us your relationship with Lesley? How did you two first cross paths?

A: My e-sis... We met in another game, where we were almost always allies and played on the same global team. I think we grew closer when we started playing Domination. We have a lot in common, as well as many differences, of course, but we’re two Balkan lionesses and we’re always on the same team. I love her energy and her dedication to the causes she chooses, her willingness to help whenever she can, and we get along really well. Love you, sis!

Q: You clearly possess a deep love for music. Could you share a few of the absolute best songs you have ever listened to?

A: Thats a tough question.... I have so many different favorite songs that I couldnt possibly choose Maybe my favorite song is this one

https://youtu.be/i5GhFL0OWq8?si=YQUk8xAYiWysqSzZ

or this one

https://youtu.be/9HZ_tx8aWuA?si=2KgjIbNE_9fibRN1

adore this one

And... no, I really couldn’t—there are hundreds of them...

Q: Where does your profound passion for music come from? Do you happen to sing or play any musical instruments yourself?

A: I grew up surrounded by music! My father’s second job was in the music industry, and there was always music playing at home—we had speakers in every single room, including the bathroom, the toilet, and the balcony. That way, we could listen to music at any moment, anywhere. All kinds of styles—even bands like Slayer, Metallica, and Cradle of Filth—were favorites of my dad’s. He passed on his love of music to me, and it’s what saves me every single day. I wear headphones when I’m out and about, whether I’m traveling or taking a walk; at home; at the store; I even take my phone into the bathroom to listen to music while I shower 🙂 Unfortunately, I can’t play any instruments, but I used to sing in a children’s choir. Now I only sing in the shower, or when no one’s home, or sometimes when I forget I’m wearing headphones and people nearby can hear me, haha

Q: On a deeper note, have you ever been in love? What was that experience like for you?

A: This is a pretty personal question, but as I said—I’m always honest, so… yes, I’ve been in love. I think three times so far. The first time was love of my life, when I was 20. He’s also the father of my son, even though we never got married. It was a real, passionate love, with lots of happy moments, lots of emotions, and many years of life together. Unfortunately, all good things sometimes come to an end...

The funny thing is that after that, I had two online crushes. The first one lasted four years—a complicated relationship with lots of emotions, both good and bad… The second came quickly, unexpectedly, and was burning hot… The risks of hanging out on the internet :) But life is unknown sometimes

Q: Do you believe the Albanian community is still as warlike as it used to be? What leads you to see it that way?

A: Warlike? I dont think thats changed. A little tired—maybe. In summer mode—definitely. But when the war time come, we’ll definitely fight and defend what we’ve achieved, and we’ll help our allies when needed. We’re still a tight-knit team, and we’ll be a tough opponent for anyone who decides to mess with us

In the end, I want to thank everyone who read all of this until the very end. I truly hope you enjoyed the reading!

I also want to extend a massive thank you to Guba Otrovna for her deeply thoughtful answers and for dedicating her time to share them with us.
